Crown Paints Darwen Community Awards
Over the last 10 years Crown Paints, in partnership with Darwen Town Council, have invested over £100k back into the local community.
From sporting kits and equipment to camping gear for Scouts and park and cemetery restoration, the group donates awards of up to £2,000 to local groups within the BB3 postcode every year.
Now the scheme has been renewed for 2018, both Crown Paints and DTC are appealing for local groups to bid for a grant for the coming year.
The application process is quick and easy to complete, with just basic information regarding the charity or community group’s governance and financial status required.
A Spokesperson for Crown Community Awards said, “It wonderful to see such thriving groups in Darwen and as a company we are pleased to support them when they really need it.
We are committed to supporting the local community in a variety of ways and these Awards are a demonstration of this.
Darwen Town Councillor, John East said, “We are appealing for applications from community groups to bid to up £2K and especially encourage groups who have not applied before. Grants must demonstrate creative development and not just running costs. Applications are welcome for new equipment, projects and programmes that benefit whole communities.”
