The Blackburn & Darwen Band have recently competed in the North West Area Regional championships at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool and that after a strong performance they were awarded 3rd place which  qualified them for the National Championships in Cheltenham in September.

The Town Council who sponsor the band’s Annual Festival of Brass, which draws in many bands from around the north to Darwen welcome this achievement which the band deserves; as those who have had the pleasure of watching and listening to their excellent local performances will testify.

The Annual Festival of Brass is scheduled to take place this year on Sunday 9^th June, in the Town Centre Square.
