The annual parade to celebrate St. Georges Day was held on Sunday 23^rd April.

Ably led by Darwen Brass Band, the parade included all sections of the Darwen Scouting movement, the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Councillor Suleman Khonat J.P and Darwen Town Council Mayor, Councillor Stephanie Brookfield. Following assembly at Derwent Hall the procession continued on to St. Peter’s Church for the service officiated by the Rev. Alison Mitchell.

The packed congregation saw Darwen Scout leader, Michael Grime B.E.M, managing the duties of the movement where every individual section re-affirmed their national respective promises and awards for service and merit were handed out by both attending Mayors.

The town should be rightly proud of all the young people present who were a credit to their parents and their scout leaders.
